Another bacterial disease spread by the Deer tick.

The most common symptoms are:

  • Lameness
  • Fever
  • Swollen joints
  • Kidney failure
  • Depression
  • Anorexia
  • If left untreated it can lead to:

  • Damaged joints
  • Fatal kidney disease (rare)
  • There is a preventative (Frontline/Nexgard flea and tick – applied monthly) and a treatment for this disease.

    In 2017, of 1237 patients tested, 97 were positive at our hospital.
